Board Member Spotlight: Karen Parker

At the SACS Education Foundation, our work is made possible by people who believe in the power of education and the importance of supporting our students, families, and schools.

This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Karen Parker and the time, dedication, and heart she brings to SACS CARES — Connection and Resources for Education and Success.

SACS CARES is a district-wide initiative that helps connect students and families with important resources and support. Karen plays an important role in helping make that support possible.

Why Serving the Foundation Matters

When asked why volunteering with the Foundation is meaningful to her, Karen shared:

“I believe deeply in the power of education—not only to change the trajectory of a child’s life, but to strengthen an entire community. Volunteering with the SACS Education Foundation gives me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact right here in the community where I live and where my family has put down roots.

Southwest Allen County Schools is an exceptional district, but what makes it truly special are the people—the teachers, staff, and administrators who show up every day committed to helping students thrive. And, of course, the kids are incredible. I love being part of an organization that brings our community together to support them, invest in their potential, and make an already amazing school district even stronger.”

We’re grateful to Karen for sharing her passion for education and for helping strengthen the connection between our schools and our community.

Help Support SACS CARES

Community support makes programs like SACS CARES possible. Donations help provide backpacks filled with school essentials and CARES Kits for families who need extra support.

Every contribution helps us be ready when a student or family needs a helping hand.
